Requirements

Dental Hygienist registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
Completion of a 2-year diploma program in Dental Hygiene
Less than 1 year of experience, preferably in a private dental practice or public health environment
Knowledge of dental hygiene theory and practice
Understanding of principles of prevention of dental diseases
Familiarity with sterilization techniques
Knowledge of determinants of health and teaching/motivational techniques
Understanding of socially funded dental programs in Ontario
Ability to perform legislated duties of a dental hygienist safely and effectively
Ability to maintain records according to policies and procedures
Effective communication skills with various stakeholders
Ability to organize yearly screenings and schedules
Experience in dealing with multicultural groups and individuals
Strong interpersonal skills
Adaptability and flexibility
Punctuality and reliability
Maturity and good judgement
Self-motivated with initiative
Professionalism and enthusiasm in communication
Driver's license and ability to use own transportation
Completion of a police record check as per city standards
Various language proficiency as per job requirements (English only, French only, or bilingual)
