Requirements

Dental Hygiene Diploma or degree; candidates with FDHRC equivalency may be considered
Current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Dental Hygienist with Yukon’s Professional Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
Experience providing various dental services to children and youth
Experience working in public health and/or with First Nation’s communities (considered an asset)
Training and experience with Silver Diamine Fluoride and Interim Stabilization Therapy (considered an asset)
Understanding and adherence to the Dental Hygienists’ Code of Ethics & Code of Conduct
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated high standards and adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
Strong ability to work autonomously and effectively manage a large, diverse workload
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships through collaboration with colleagues and clients
Excellent approach to working with children and families
Leadership skills demonstrating aptitude in public health and program/service delivery
Copy of Dental Hygiene Diploma or degree, or equivalency assessment from FDHRC
Registration with Yukon’s Professional Licensing and Regulatory Affairs for dental hygiene license
Valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
Security clearance with vulnerable sectors
TB Screening
WHMIS 2015 certification (to be obtained within 1 month of hire)
CPR certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Transportation of dangerous goods certificate (to be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be comfortable working with young children (preschool and school-age)
Exposure to physical hazards including communicable diseases and chemical exposure from sanitization products
