Requirements
Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
College/CEGEP education
Experience in a dental practice setting
Ability to conduct initial dental assessments
Ability to consult with dentists on patient care
Skill in taking dental impressions
Skill in instructing patients regarding oral hygiene
Skill in cleaning and stimulating gums to prevent gum disease
Skill in applying fluoride treatment
Skill in removing stains and deposits from teeth
Skill in taking, developing, and mounting X-rays
Attention to detail
Manual dexterity
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to work under pressure
