Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Ortho Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team. As a key member, you will provide excellent dental hygiene services, specializing in orthodontic care. Responsibilities include performing routine cleanings, assisting with orthodontic procedures, and educating patients on oral care techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Orthodontic Hygiene Services:

Clean and polish teeth of orthodontic patients.
Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive treatments.
Assist in the application and removal of orthodontic appliances.
Perform scaling and root planning, as required.
Take digital x-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging.

Patient Care and Education:

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and orthodontic care.
Provide individualized oral hygiene instructions.
Demonstrate proper use of orthodontic tools.

Collaboration with Orthodontists:

Work closely with the orthodontist to track patient progress and adjust care plans.
Assist orthodontists in procedures and provide patient care instructions.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Document and update treatment progress and interactions.

Sterilization and Infection Control:

Follow strict infection control protocols.
Ensure all dental instruments are properly sterilized.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Administrative Support:

Assist with scheduling patient appointments.
Provide patients with post-procedure care instructions.

Professional Development:

Participate in ongoing professional development.
Attend continuing education programs as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
Valid registration as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).

Experience:

Experience with various orthodontic appliances is required.

Skills:

Strong understanding of orthodontic procedures.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Work Hours: Weekdays, evenings, and/or weekend shifts may be required based on patient demand.

Environment:

Work is performed in a clean, safe, and modern dental office.
The position may require standing for long periods.
