Requirements

Completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma from a recognized accredited educational institute
Registered in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (general or specialty certification) and authorized for self-initiation
Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical dental hygiene experience
Current Basic Life Support (HCP) and First Aid Certification
Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
Proficient in taking digital radiographs
Current knowledge, experience and skills necessary to provide comprehensive dental hygiene services to children, seniors, and vulnerable population groups
Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply principles of health promotion, disease/injury prevention, and determinants of health
Knowledge of Ministry government-assisted programs (e.g., HSO, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, etc.)
Experience with dental software programs (e.g., ABELDent)
Strong knowledge and adherence to IPAC/PIDAC measures (Public Health Ontario Instrument Reprocessing Certificate is an asset)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Excellent clinical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and adaptable to changing program needs
Excellent communication and time management skills
Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to perform independently and effectively
