Requirements
Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
Experience in a dental setting preferred
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
Proficient in conducting initial dental assessments
Ability to consult with dentists on patient care
Skills in instructing patients regarding oral hygiene
Experience in cleaning and stimulating gums to prevent gum disease
Ability to apply fluoride treatment
Capability to remove stains and deposits from teeth
Proficient in taking, developing, and mounting X-rays
Ability to apply and remove temporary dressings
Experience in removing sutures
Manual dexterity
Hand-eye coordination
