Requirements

Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
College/CEGEP education in Dental Hygiene
1 to less than 7 months of clinical experience
Proficient in conducting dental assessments and consultations
Ability to instruct patients on oral hygiene
Skills in cleaning and stimulating gums to prevent gum disease
Experience applying fluoride treatments
Capable of taking, developing, and mounting X-rays
Ability to prepare patients for dental examinations
Skills in patient positioning and coordination of patient care
Manual dexterity
Hand-eye coordination
Attention to detail
Client focus and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal awareness
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team player qualities
